mod.io | Engineering | On-Site / Hybrid | Melbourne, Australia About - mod.io is developing an industry leading user-generated content (UGC) middleware solution for game developers. We are currently used by 200+ games to power their in-game UGC needs across 14 platforms and steadily growing. Job - We're looking for a talented mid / senior developer with Laravel experience to join our small but tight-knit backend team to continue to evolve our product. We're looking for someone that has: - 2+ years PHP experience working with Laravel (5+ if senior) - Experience with NoSQL key-stores such as Redis & relational databases (MariaDB, MySQL). - Experience with data modelling for high throughput database activity and a strong understanding of which workloads and data access patterns are scalable and what datastore the data should reside in. - An ability to write clean, robust and reusable code, as well as mentor and review the code of other backend engineers. - A strong understanding of RESTful APIʼs. - Familiarity with Amazon Web Servicesʼ such as ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3. - The ability to take a concept from design to a functional, usable release. - Confidence in your ability to lead a project from start to finish with little oversight from senior team members. - An excitement to dig in and experiment, with real attention to detail. - A hunger to own your code, improve your craft, and create a kick ass experience for millions of gamers along the way. We'd prefer to have the candidate in Melbourne, Australia or on the east-coast of Australia timezone but will make exceptions for exceptional candidates! Want to have a chat or know someone that would be a good fit? Please e-mail me at pat+hn@mod.io.
