Zotero | JavaScript Developer (Web Scraping & Data Extraction), Product Designer | REMOTE | https://www.zotero.org Zotero is an open-source project that develops software and web services to help people collect, organize, cite, and share their research. Our software is recommended by most universities and used by millions of students, scholars, scientists, and researchers worldwide. We're looking for a developer to work on Zotero "translators", the bits of JavaScript code that allow Zotero to save high-quality data from across the web, and the architecture around them. (Zotero translators and the Zotero translation server are also used on Wikipedia to generate citations in articles.) If you love web scraping and playing with browser devtools, get in touch. We're also looking for a product designer to help redesign Zotero's desktop apps and website and help launch our upcoming iOS app. In both roles, you'll be part of a small team producing free and open-source software along with an amazing global community, and you'll help make a huge difference in people's ability to manage their research effectively.
