Futo (https://futo.org) | Software Engineer | Austin, TX or Remote FUTO, a new organization devoted to giving people control over their data, is searching for a talented Android engineer to work with an elite team of former academics and Silicon Valley veterans to build the next generation of social sharing apps. Our iOS app Circles (currently in beta) aims to combine the security of encrypted messenger apps like Signal with the ease of use and convenience of social networks like Facebook. Circles is built with Matrix, so all data is encrypted from end to end, and anyone can run their own server. We do not sell ads and we do not monetize our users' data. We believe that technology should work for its users -- not the other way around. If you're an Android developer who's excited about cryptography, decentralized systems, security and privacy -- or if you just want a safer way to share baby photos with the grandparents -- we'd love to talk to you.
