Kausal | Software Engineer | Remote | Full time Cities account for 70 % of global greenhouse gas emissions. Most large cities have already set a climate target such as Net Zero or Carbon Neutrality, but they lack the tools to measure and manage this transition. At Kausal, we want to provide cities with the world’s most powerful collaboration and modeling tools for turning climate goals into actions by enabling accuracy, transparency and co-creation. We are looking for a Software Engineer! You will help build: - Kausal Paths, a simulation platform for forecasting how a city develops over time especially in relation to greenhouse gas emissions. - Kausal Watch, which helps a city coordinate and monitor climate work, making the implementation of a city’s climate action plan more efficient. Real-time dashboards and collaborative data updates help manage, communicate and report on the climate actions publicly. What we look for: - You are a Python specialist or a polyglot generalist. You understand what an AST is, you are happy doing metaprogramming, and you are able to craft pragmatic data models and make informed architecture decisions. You like Care and Quality. - You are comfortable with data crunching and scientific modeling. - You learn fast and are able to independently study new technologies. - You want your skills to be used for tackling the climate crisis. - You are familiar with open-source software development practices.
