Stealth Climate Tech Co | Founding Software Engineer | US Remote | Full-time Residential heating and cooling accounts for a whopping 10% of all ghg emissions in the United States [1]. I’m building a company to reduce that number by 20-50%. The beta product is a SaaS tool for a vertical that desperately needs one. Quickly, we will grow into a d2c marketplace to 'grow the pie' for decarbonization. Currently, two pilot partners are on the platform with a small number of daily transactions. We’ll come out of “stealth” as soon as I build us a public-facing website :) The ideal candidate is a mid- or senior-level coder with strong intrinsic motivation to fight climate change. You will have an enormous amount of ownership in this role, and therefore you should care deeply about the product you’re building. Likewise, we’re going to create a culture together. I’m looking for someone who finds that exciting, and who also recognizes that it takes thoughtful effort. I’m a sole founder, and I’ve secured a pre-seed. I have experience[2] co-founding a climate tech company, and I was the CTO & 1st hire at Snapdocs (yc w14, currently #61 on yc’s top private companies). Presently, the stack is vanilla Ruby on Rails. I’m a strong proponent of using proven technology in order to iterate quickly - let’s save our “three innovation tokens” for when we really need them. I plan to build a distributed-first company (I love writing things down, we should all write things down). However, if you happen to be based in Chicago, and if the idea appeals to you, I’d be happy to rent a co-working space.
